Promise

To be invested, every member of the Scout movement has to say a promise - the promise is different for Beavers and Cubs, to make it easier to remember for them, but we make the full promise, which is the same for all adult leaders as well.

On my honour,

I Promise that I will do my best,

To do my duty to God and to the King,

To help other people,

And to keep the Scout Law

There are different promises for those who are Muslim, Hindu, Buddhists, and for those who don't believe in a faith, which can be found here

The Scout Law

The Scout Law is something that is promised upon joining the movement. It's something that every Scout should live their life by and follow in their daily lives:

  1. A Scout is to be trusted.

  2. A Scout is loyal.

  3. A Scout is friendly and considerate.

  4. A Scout belongs to the worldwide family of Scouts.

  5. A Scout has courage in all difficulties.

  6. A Scout makes good use of time and is careful of possessions and property.

  7. A Scout has self-respect and respect for others.

Whats next?

You reach 14 years old, and you realise you're older than all the other Scouts... What next!?

Explorers is the next section and stage in your Scouting adventure - designed for young people aged 14 to 18. It’s all about taking the skills you’ve learned in Scouts and pushing them further with bigger challenges, more independence, and loads of adventure.

We do not have an Explorer Scout Unit at our Group, however there are several groups to choose from across Coventry

see them here - https://coventryscouts.org.uk/youth-programme/explorers/

We also encourage our Scouts to carry on with their time within our group, becoming a Young Leader with one of our younger sections - which helps towards DofE awards!
